What does "free setup" mean?
We build your entire website — design, content architecture, keyword research, and deployment — at no upfront cost. Setup includes up to 30 pages and 2 rounds of revisions, which covers the vast majority of service businesses. With a 6-month commitment the setup is included. Need more? Additional pages and revisions are available at a per-page rate.
Does anything publish without my approval?
No, and it is enforced in the software rather than promised in a contract. A new page goes through two gates: you approve the idea first, then check the finished page on a real deployed preview URL before it can go live. Edits to an existing page — a new title, a new section, an FAQ — go through both gates too. Only small technical fixes, such as robots.txt, use the first gate alone. One click approves, one click rejects.
What is the AI Readiness score?
A seven-check audit of how legible your business is to the assistants people now ask for recommendations — structured data, llms.txt, AI-crawler directives, meta tags, sitemap, whether your content can be read without fighting through layout, and whether each page is available as clean markdown. We run it by hand before you sign so you can see where you stand, and again once the work has landed so the improvement is a number, not a claim.
Why is markdown a feature?
When an assistant reads a normal website it receives navigation, scripts and styling wrapped around the sentence it actually needs. Every page we publish is also available as clean markdown at the same address, so an assistant asking about your business gets your words rather than your page furniture. It is live on every site we run.
Do I need to provide content?
No. Content is generated from your services, your market and your real search data, in your brand voice. You approve everything before it goes live.
What if the AI writes something I do not want said?
Tell us once and it sticks. A note like "never mention sedation pricing", left on anything waiting for your approval, is recorded as a standing rule and applied to the briefs and pages written for you afterwards. One-time notes work too — "mention our new equipment" shapes just that piece.
How do I know any of it worked?
Every week the system collects your Search Console queries and clicks, your Analytics traffic and your rankings, and every Monday a briefing reports how they moved. Judging whether one specific change caused a movement is harder, and that part is not finished: we do not show a before-and-after for a change until we can stand behind it.
What happens after the 6-month commitment?
Your plan continues month-to-month with no lock-in. If you leave, you get your full static site as raw HTML, CSS and assets, ready to host anywhere. The files are yours.
How is this different from hiring an agency?
An agency sends you analysis and a list of recommendations you still have to implement. Surfaced does the analysis and then does the work — writes the page and publishes it. You are buying execution, not advice about execution.
